Panelist: Federated and Centralized Models. 26th Annual Management Information Systems (MIS) Conference, The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES). In this session, panelists from Arkansas, Mississippi, Virginia, and Kentucky discussed their states’ use of a federated or centralized model of system architecture. Panelists presented their rationale for choosing the model they did, the roles and responsibilities of participating agencies, the matching process employed, data access and response time, and rules for data integrity.
